Practising acupuncture in Argyll since 1998

I have been practising acupuncture in Argyll since graduating from the College of Traditional Acupuncture in 1998. In 2012 I graduated from Middlesex University with a First Class Honours degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine enabling me to integrate herbal medicine into my practice. Over the past 15 years I have had the opportunity to develop my knowledge of Chinese Medicine through further study in the UK, Israel and China. I am currently studying Classical Chinese Medicine through exploration of the early classical medical texts such as the Nan Jing, the HuangDi Nei Jing and the Pi Wei Lun. I have regular clinical supervision and undertake all mandatory continuous professional development requirements laid out by my professional bodies in addition to following my own interests within my profession.

I have a conventional health background, qualifying as a registered general nurse in 1991 and a midwife in 1992.

Having worked for the NHS for many years I stopped practicing in 2008 when I began my degree. It is a background I am very proud of and I believe my Chinese Medicine practice has been greatly enhanced over the years through this experience in addition to the knowledge I have gained from working with many talented colleagues who remain in the NHS.

I have been a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) since 1998 and a member of the Register of Chinese Medicine (RCHM) since 2012 ; both of these bodies are recognised institutions in the field of TCM.

Everyday in clinical practice is a rich and diverse experience. Chinese Medicine, when practised according to classical teachings, truly is a unique and elegant system of medicine and to this end I am grateful to my patients who allow me to develop my knowledge through their commitment to good health.
